The Giraffe the Pelly and Me by Roald Dahl has to be one of his best books. There is a boy that wants to turn a ramshackle building into a sweet shop. The boy also meets magical animals, which are a giraffe a pelican and a monkey. My favourite part of the book is when the Duke asks the animals to clean his house, because the animals ‘cleaning system is strange.’ My favourite character is the giraffe, because she can stretch her neck to however long she wants! I would recommend this book to 5 – 10s.
